Shlomi Cohen
Shlomi Cohen submits:
As
companies put the finishing touches to their first quarter results,
amid growing fears that the recent tumble in share prices could herald
a severe downturn in business, I found some hints as to how Israeli
companies have been faring in the annual 20F filings that some of them
are now releasing, and which all companies must publish by June 30.
While this is a report that covers their results for the year just

John J. Phillips IV
John J. Phillips IV submits: Treasuries are expected to remain vulnerable to the news flow for the
remainder of the week. In New York,
the Fed is getting ready for the second Term Securities
Lending Facility, the results of which are due out on Thursday. Auction
results are expected to provide some insight as to how badly global money
markets are hurting. Recall that the
initial auction covered 1.15x, perhaps indicating that markets were not as
desperate for liquidity as some people thought. Complete Story »

Kevin Stecyk submits:
In this weekend's Barron's magazine article Commodities: Who's Behind the Boom?
(subscription required), Gene Epstein provides a compelling argument
that the commodities bubble is, indeed, a bubble and that it is about
to burst. And the price action in today's markets certainly seems to
support that thesis. All that said, I disagree. Complete Story »
